maybe everyone else has heard by now but i only found out about it a few weeks ago. te araroa is the name of a project to create a tramping trail between cape reinga, on the top of the north island, to bluff, on the bottom of the south island. that’s a total of 3000 kilometres. yep, that’s what i said. the project is currently linking existing trails together and, if all goes according to planned, one of the world’s longest walking trails will be finished in late 2010.
