Eating in Beijing
Donghuamen Night Market
Yep, she is holding a snake on a stick. Yep, she wants us to eat it. Nope, of course we didn’t!
Crickets, anyone?
I am all for being adventurous and experiencing other cultures. But I’m also all for staying healthy so you can actually enjoy your trip and bring back good memories of it. Somehow, eating snake and crickets doesn’t match my idea of a healthy diet so i stayed away from them. They did have some “harmless” delicacies there, like fruit on sticks and other normal(-ish) stuff like that. Also, right across the road from this market, there’s a really nice Chinese restaurant (well, I suppose since I’m talking about China, I should just refer to it as a restaurant…) that, despite the photo of a fried pidgeon on the menu, had some of the yummiest food I’ve eaten in a long time.
