(summer here in the southern hemisphere, that is)
I know it’s already February and we’re half way through Summer down here but before the sky goes all grey again and the coats need to get out of the closet, here’s the plan:
- run more, run more often, run for longer.
- go strawberry picking (apparently every single person in kiwiland has done it except me)
- the tongariro crossing
- have a lot more picnics
- kayak in puhoi
- return to waiheke island (this time with good weather instead of the crappy day i had the only time i went there)
- zorbing!
- visit the auckland fish market (i’m not even sure if it’s good or bad but i want to go there)
- learn to ride the goddamn bike!
- go to markets more often (farmers’ markets, crafts markets, it doesn’t matter, so long as it’s outdoors and there are pretty things on display)
There’s heaps of other stuff I want to do but I guess narrowing it to ten things will help me get out of my lazy butt and actually do it.

Aqui há um/dois mêses perguntei-te onde poderia cambiar $$$ em Auckland… A diferença entre o aeroporto e a casa de cambio de um chinês numa das transversais da Queen Street foi o suficiente para fazer o Bungi em em Taupo e comprar uma pá na Hot Water Beach… A malta de Lisboa é assim. Obrigado.

Certíssima!!!… Eu sou do Bairro do Castelo… Mas desde miúdo que morei na Graça… A tua informação salvou-me alguns dollars resistindo à tentação de cambiar dinheiro no aeroporto. Que sabia eu da NZ… NADA!… Thanks a lot Kiwera you’re number one!… Ah! Já me esquecia… Saltei também da Sky Tower… E já agora nas minhas caminhadas em Auckland encontrei numa rua (díria Bêco) um restaurante com o nome de TASCA… Será de portugueses?!

Esse da tasca nao conheco mas procurei no google e encontrei isto: http://www.tasca.co.nz/ deve ser este e, se assim for, e espanhol. De qualquer modo, vou ter que la ir porque as vezes os restaurantes espanhois aqui sao mais ibericos do que somente espanhois. Obrigada pela dica!

Ok!… Nos arredores de Auckland (perto do aeroporto) há uma winery que produz um Pinot Noir de se lhe tirar o chapéu, chama-se Villa Maria… Está lá um sujeito parecido com um vampiro (no bullshit) atendendo o público que anda contentíssimo com uns sapatos que comprou no Porto… Mas nem por isso me deixou de cobrar 5 dollars for the tasting…. Hahaha!

Haha tenho que ir ver se encontro esse sujeito! Por acaso ja estive na Villa Maria… belos vinhos (sou mais de Sauvignon Blanc do que de Pinot Noir, confesso… mas nao gosto de descriminar).

This was brilliant, I found this while searching for summer holidays 2010, but I actually did mentally tick off everything I have done. I will make it my aim to complete the rest this year, although will have to adapt it for UK usage!
